Scope

This document defines the classification and marking, structure, and parameters of elastically damped leaf couplings (hereinafter referred to as "couplings"). It also specifies the technical requirements, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage, and describes the corresponding test methods. This document applies to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of couplings used in power plants such as ships, diesel locomotives, diesel engine generator sets, heavy-duty vehicles, and industrial diesel engine power units. These couplings are used to adjust the natural frequency of torsional vibration in mechanical systems and reduce resonance amplitude, with an allowable ambient temperature range of -30°C to 85°C.
