Interpretation of Manganese-based Brazing Filler Metal Standards
1. Overview of the Standards
The National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 13679-2016 "Manganese-based Brazing Filler Metal" specifies the classification and model, chemical composition, technical conditions, test methods and inspection rules, packaging, marking, and product quality certificates of manganese-based brazing filler metals. It is suitable for brazing filler metals used in gas-shielded furnace brazing, induction brazing, and other methods.
2. Background of Standard Revision
GB/T 13679-2016 replaces the previous GB/T 13679-1992. The main technical changes include:
- Reconfirm the validity of the standard
- Add the method and mark of solder model
- Merge the specifications and limit deviations into the "Technical Conditions" chapter
- Delete the specifications and tolerance requirements of filamentary solder
- Add the "Product Quality Certificate" requirements

5. Technical Conditions and Quality Control
Standard Requirements:
- Product types include strips, powders, etc. Special types need to be agreed upon by both parties.
- Dimensional tolerances must comply with the requirements of Table 3, and the thickness tolerance range is ±0.010~±0.025mm
- Appearance quality requirements: no defects that affect brazing performance, a small amount of dents, scratches, etc. are allowed

- Users should choose appropriate models based on specific application scenarios
