Introduction
GB/T14989-2015 "Iron Cobalt Vanadium Permanent Magnet Alloy" Standard Interpretation
Standard Revision Background and Technology Evolution Analysis
GB/T14989-2015 is a comprehensive revision of the original standard GB/T14989-1994, mainly updating the technical requirements and application scope of iron cobalt vanadium permanent magnet alloys. The new standard introduces stricter chemical composition control and advanced smelting processes, such as vacuum induction melting technology.
Comparison of Standard Frameworks
| Standard Dimensions | Requirements of the 1994 Edition | Improvements of the 2015 Edition |
|---|---|---|
| Chemical Composition Control | Relatively loose range, no clear detection method. | The chemical composition requirements have been refined, and normative reference documents (GB/T223 series) have been added. |
| Metallurgy Method | Non-vacuum induction melting. | Changed to vacuum induction melting to improve the purity of the alloy. |
| Magnetic performance indicators | The unit system is not unified, and some parameters are missing. | The international system of units is uniformly adopted, and the maximum magnetic energy product data requirements are added. |
Interpretation of main technical requirements
Grades and chemical composition:The new standard adds three new grades: 2J31, 2J32, and 2J33, and clarifies the chemical composition range of each grade. For example, the cobalt content of 2J31 is required to be between 1.0~5.3%, and the vanadium content is between 0.70~0.80%.
Magnetic performance indicators:For the recommended heat treatment system, please refer to Appendix A, among which coercivity and residual magnetic induction are key assessment indicators. For example, the minimum Br·Hc value of 2J31 is 19.10 J/m³.
Implementation suggestions
- Production process:Use vacuum induction melting process to ensure the purity of the alloy. At the same time, strictly follow the recommended heat treatment system for processing.
- Testing process:Strengthen the frequency of testing chemical composition and magnetic properties, especially Br·Hc indicators.
- Quality control:Establish a complete quality assurance system to ensure that products meet standard requirements. For unqualified products, it is recommended to readjust the heat treatment process and then re-inspect.
