GB/T 15400—2018 Standard Overview

GB/T 15400—2018 is an important standard in the feed industry, used to determine the content of tryptophan in feed. This standard replaces the previous GB/T15400—1994, adds high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and optimizes the application scope and quantitative limit of spectrophotometry.

Method Comparison and Application

High performance liquid chromatography has high sensitivity and specificity, and is particularly suitable for trace analysis. Its chromatographic conditions require strict requirements, including mobile phase ratio and column temperature control. The spectrophotometric method is based on the characteristic reaction of tryptophan to generate a blue compound, which is suitable for rapid detection of large batches of samples.

Implementation suggestions

In practical applications, it is recommended to select an appropriate method based on the fat content of the sample.
