Transformer Selection Case

For 400kV/230kV autotransformer, the standard recommends that the zero-sequence reactance ratio (X(0)/X(1)) be 1.5~3.2. In fact, a project in Austria adopted the parameter X(0)C=125.3Ω (converted to 400kV side)


Technology Evolution Analysis

This standard inherits IEC TR 60909-2:2008 technical framework, the main changes include:

  • Added XLPE cable impedance calculation model
  • Refined the correction factor of synchronous motor saturation reactance
  • Supplemented the zero-sequence coupling formula of double-circuit lines on the same pole

Implementation suggestions

  1. Nameplate data provided by the manufacturer should be used first for short-circuit calculation
  2. For 110kV and above cables, the influence of metal sheath backflow needs to be considered
  3. The short-circuit current contributed by the asynchronous motor is converted according to ILR/IrM=5.5~6.7
