Scope

This part of GB/T 1747 is one of a series of standards on sampling and testing of paints, varnishes and related products. This standard specifies the method of ashing the test product to determine the pigment content contained in the paint. This method is not applicable to paints containing aluminum, organic pigments and/or dyes, or inorganic pigments treated with organic compounds, these components (which can account for about 10% of the pigment) will change during the ashing process. Since many pigments and extenders will change their state under the specified test conditions, whether the actual pigment content of the product tested can be deduced from the apparent pigment content obtained by this method will depend on the composition of the pigment and the selected graying. temperature.
