Introduction

1. Background and significance of the standard

Non-metallic gaskets for marine flanges are key sealing components in the ship's piping system, which directly affect the pressure resistance and sealing of the ship. The GB/T 17727-2024 standard replaces GB/T 17727-2017, further improves the relevant technical requirements, adds new material types and performance indicators, and reflects the development of industry technology.

2. Classification and marking

Type Applicable standard Applicable medium
Type A CB/T 4196—2011 Sea water, fresh water, etc.
Type AS GB/T 2501—2010 Fuel oil, steam, etc.
Type JA GB/T 9124.1—2019 Applicable to flat gaskets

3. Materials and performance requirements

Material types:Including asbestos-free fiber-reinforced rubber, flexible graphite composite plate, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), etc.

Sealing test:Adopt GB/T 12385 standard to ensure that the gasket has no leakage under the design pressure.

Flame retardant performance:The oxygen index should not be less than 27, suitable for high temperature or flammable environment.

4. Technology evolution analysis

Compared with GB/T 17727-2017, the new standard adds new materials such as flexible graphite composite plate and expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, and refines the sealing and fire resistance requirements, reflecting the industry's higher demand for sealing performance under high temperature and high pressure environments.

5. Implementation suggestions

Material selection suggestions:Choose appropriate materials according to the medium used and temperature and pressure conditions. For example, flexible graphite composite plates are preferred for fuel systems.

Testing and verification:Carry out sealing, flame retardancy and fire resistance tests in strict accordance with standard requirements to ensure product quality.

Storage management:Gaskets of different materials should be stored separately to avoid direct sunlight and high temperature and high humidity environments to ensure long-term availability of the product.
