Introduction
GB/T18326-2022 Standard Interpretation and Technical Analysis
Standard Background and Significance
GB/T18326-2022 "Multilayer Materials for Thin-walled Sliding Bearings" is an important revision that replaces GB/T18326-2001. It mainly updates the technical requirements for multilayer materials for thin-walled sliding bearings. This revision introduces stricter chemical composition specifications and environmental protection requirements, and adds a number of technical standards for new alloy materials to meet the higher requirements of modern engines and high-speed machinery for bearing material performance.
This standard revision adopts ISO4383:2012, combines the actual needs of the Chinese market, adds a new "Terms and Definitions" chapter, and optimizes and adjusts the original technical requirements. In particular, the lead-based alloy materials that do not meet environmental protection requirements have been deleted, reflecting the concept of sustainable development in the industry.
| Dimensions | Technical requirements for the 2001 version | New/revised content for the 2022 version | Scope of application |
|---|---|---|---|
| Material chemical composition | Only the content requirements of some alloying elements are specified | Added a number of alloy grades, clarified the content range of each element, and introduced technical requirements for polymer coatings | Applicable to multi-layer materials for thin-walled sliding bearings |
| Coating technology | The type and thickness requirements of the coating are not specified | Technical specifications for electroplating, sputtering and polymer coatings are added, and the thickness requirements are refined | Applicable to high-precision bearing manufacturing |
| Environmental protection requirements | No restrictions on the use of harmful elements | Delete lead-based alloy materials and add Cd content limit requirements | Meet modern environmental protection standards |
Implementation recommendations and technical selection guide
Material selection principles:
- Select an alloy layer with appropriate hardness according to the working conditions of the bearing (refer to Table A.1 and Table A.2)
- Give priority to environmentally friendly materials and avoid the use of lead-containing alloys
- Match the bearing alloy layer with the minimum hardness requirement of the journal material
Coating technology recommendations:
- Electroplating is suitable for small and medium-sized batch production
- Sputtering coating is suitable for high-precision parts
- Polymer coating needs to be selected in combination with specific lubrication conditions
Practical Application Case Analysis
Taking high-speed engine connecting rod bearings as an example, it is recommended to use CuPb17 Sn5 alloy material and use SnCu3 cladding technology. This combination has good corrosion resistance and wear resistance while meeting high fatigue strength.
