Scope

This standard defines the terms of self-propelled forestry machinery and gives guidance on classification. These terms and definitions are based on the manufacturer's end use for the machinery. These terms and definitions do not include all forestry operations and machinery, nor do they describe any special machinery, but they can be used as a reference for their naming. This standard applies to forestry machinery designed for land preparation, tree planting, harvesting, wood processing and wood transportation in forest land, but not to machinery and road transport vehicles or air transport vehicles designed for logging plants or log storage plants.
