Scope
This standard specifies the performance requirements for starting devices (starters and ignitors) for tubular fluorescent lamps and other discharge lamps using an alternating current power supply not greater than 1 000 V, 50 Hz or 60 Hz, which can produce a voltage not greater than 5 kV start pulse. This standard is used together with IEC 61347-1 and IEC 61347-2-1.
