《GB/T 20939-2007技术产品及技术产品文件结构原则 字母代码 按项目用途和任务划分的主类和子类》由TC27（全国电气信息结构、文件编制和图形符号标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为国家标准化管理委员会。
本标准等同采用IEC PAS 62400：2005，规定了按用途和任务划分的项目类别及字母代码，扩展了GB/T5094.2-2003表1内容，并增加了子类代码。本标准适用于结构、工艺、电气工程等所有学科以及标准，例如发电、配电、加工机械、造船工业、海洋工程等。
Scope
This standard specifies the item categories and letter codes classified by purpose and task, expands the content of GB/T 5094.2 table "item category and letter code divided by use and task", and adds subcategories (second letter code). This standard applies to all disciplines and standards of structure, technology, electrical engineering, such as power generation, power distribution, processing machinery, shipbuilding, marine engineering, etc. A finer classification may specify additional letter codes. This standard does not involve the provisions of letter codes for the categories and subcategories of infrastructure projects in the GB/T 5094.2 table "Infrastructure projects and categories".
