Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of the opacity of plastic pipes and fittings. This standard applies to plastic pipes and fittings. The light transmittance values of opaque pipes and fittings are given in Appendix A. Note: In order to prevent the growth of algae, the pipes or fittings used for water transportation should be sufficiently opaque when exposed to visible light.
