《GB/T 21603-2008化学品急性经口毒性试验方法》由TC251（全国危险化学品管理标准化技术委员会）归口，TC251SC1（全国危险化学品管理标准化技术委员会化学品毒性检测分会）执行，主管部门为国家标准化管理委员会。
本标准为首次制定。本标准规定了动物对化学品急性经口毒性试验的试验方法、试验步骤和试验结果。本标准适用于对化学品进行急性经口毒性的测定。本标准修改采用联合国经济合作与发展组织（ＯＥＣＤ）化学品测试方法Ｎｏ．４０１《急性经口毒性试验》（１９８７）。
本标准与ＯＥＣＤ化学品测试方法Ｎｏ．４０１，存在以下差异：
―――对ＯＥＣＤ化学品测试方法Ｎｏ．４０１进行了编辑性修改；
―――增加了前言部分。

Scope

This standard specifies the test methods, test procedures and test results for the acute oral toxicity test of chemicals by animals. This standard applies to the determination of acute oral toxicity of chemicals.
