《GB/T 21605-2008化学品急性吸入毒性试验方法》由TC251（全国危险化学品管理标准化技术委员会）归口，TC251SC1（全国危险化学品管理标准化技术委员会化学品毒性检测分会）执行，主管部门为国家标准化管理委员会。
本标准规定了动物急性吸入毒性试验的试验目的、术语和定义、试验基本原则、试验方法、试验报告和结果解释。适用于评价气体、挥发性物质或气溶胶/颗粒物等化学品的急性吸入毒性作用。 本标准修改采用联合国经济合作与发展组织（ＯＥＣＤ）化学品测试方法Ｎｏ．４０３《急性吸入毒性试验方法》（１９８１．２）和Ｎｏ．４３３《急性吸入毒性试验方法―――固定剂量法》（２００２．２）（英文版）。
本标准与ＯＥＣＤ 化学品测试方法Ｎｏ．４０３和Ｎｏ．４３３相比，存在以下差异：
―――对ＯＥＣＤ 化学品测试方法Ｎｏ．４０３和Ｎｏ．４３３进行了编辑性修改；
―――增加了前言部分；
―――增加了附录部分。

Scope

This standard specifies the test purpose, terms and definitions, basic principles of the test, test method, test report and interpretation of the results of the animal acute inhalation toxicity test. This standard is suitable for evaluating the acute inhalation toxicity of chemicals such as gases, volatile substances or aerosols/particulates.
