本标准规定了化学品体外哺乳动物细胞基因突变试验的范围、术语和定义、试验基本原则、试验方法、试验数据和报告。适用于检测体外哺乳动物细胞基因突变。本标准等同采用经济合作与发展组织（ＯＥＣＤ）化学品测试指南Ｎｏ．４７６（１９９７年）《体外哺乳动物细胞基因突变试验》（英文版）。本标准作了以下编辑性修改：
―――增加了范围部分；
―――计量单位改成我国法定计量单位；
―――删除了ＯＥＣＤ的参考文献部分。

Scope

This standard specifies the scope, terms and definitions, basic principles, test methods, test data and reports of in vitro mammalian cell gene mutation tests for chemicals. This standard is applicable to the detection of gene mutations in mammalian cells in vitro.
