本标准系首次发布。本标准规定了工业用化学品中固体和液体水解产生的气体可燃性的确定方法。本标准适用于确定固体或液体化学品水解后产生气体的可燃性。本标准不适用于那些与空气接触后会自动燃烧的物质。本标准等同采用ＮＦＴ２０-０４０：１９８５《工业用化学品 固体和液体水解产生的气体可燃性的确定》（法文板）。
Scope
This standard method can be used when the sample reacts with distilled water to release dangerous gases or suspected flammable or toxic gases. This standard applies to the determination of the flammability of gases produced by the hydrolysis of solid or liquid chemicals. This standard does not apply to those substances which will ignite automatically on contact with air.
