Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution

GB/T22055-2022 integrates the 5 independent standards of the 2008 version (GB/T22055.1/2, GB/T22057.1/2, GB/T22132). The main technological evolutions include:

1. Key dimensions of objective lens connection

The standard defines the new value range of objective lens parfocal distance (l1):

  • Basic value: 45±0.2mm (NA≤0.1)
  • Extended value: 35/95mm (special application scenarios)

Cover glass thickness compensation formula: lCG=l1+t(n-1)/n, where t is thickness and n is refractive index (see Appendix B)

Compatibility Solutions for Old and New Systems

For users upgrading to a 160mm tube length system:

  1. 45mm parfocal distance objectives are preferred
  2. Check the thread type of the converter (RMS/M25 requires an adapter)
  3. Note that the infinity system requires a matching tube lens (fNTL=150-250mm)

Key Points for Infinity System Design

According to the requirements of Appendix C, the manufacturer should provide:

  • The imaging distance of the tube lens lNTL
  • The extreme value of the objective lens-tube lens distance d
  • Optical matching warning mark (avoid mixing across brands)

Typical application cases

Case 1: Pathology microscope upgrade
A tertiary hospital upgraded the M25 thread system to M32 to achieve:

  • NA increased from 0.65 to 0.9
  • Parfocal distance unified to 45mm (the original system had a deviation of ±0.3mm)
