Scope

This standard applies to the technical specifications and instructions issued by the flowmeter manufacturer. This standard specifies the method for expressing the performance of various flowmeters used in closed pipes or open channels. This standard explains how to classify flowmeters according to their traceability level, and clarifies in detail how the manufacturer should express the traceability, quality assurance and service conditions of flowmeters, but flowmeters may still need to be used in other situations for further clarification.
