Introduction

Analysis of the core content of the standard

This part specifies the method for determining the opacity of toilet paper and its products by diffuse reflection method, focusing on the calibration and use requirements of reflection photometer. The standard is clearly applicable to white or near-white toilet paper, including products containing fluorescent whitening agents, but not to colored products.

Key Test Steps

  1. Sample Preparation: Take 50mm×50mm samples and form a sufficient number of sample stacks
  2. Instrument Calibration: Use fluorescence reference standard to adjust the UV content
  3. Data Determination: Measure the single-layer brightness factor R0 and the internal brightness factor R
  4. Result Calculation: Calculate the opacity according to the formula Op=(100R0)/R

Note: When the opacity difference between the front and back of the sample is greater than 0.5%, the results must be reported separately

  • Select a reflectance photometer that meets the requirements of GB/T 7973
  • Equipped with D65 light source and CIE1964 colorimetry system adapter module
  • The deviation of the black tube reflection factor should be ≤0.2%

Key to quality control

  • Regularly calibrate the instrument using a non-fluorescent reference standard
  • Maintain the temperature and humidity of the test environment in accordance with the requirements of GB/T 10739
  • Exclude the air between the sample layers before testing

Analysis of standard evolution

This standard was revised and adopted with ISO 12625-16:2015, and a number of technical adjustments were made: the lighting system was changed to a D65 light source that is more in line with my country's actual situation, Appendix A of GB/T 1543-2005 was added, and precision data was supplemented (Appendix A shows that the repeatability standard deviation is ≤0.58%). These improvements make the standard more suitable for the testing needs of domestic toilet paper products.
