Introduction
GB/T 36306—2024 Standard Overview
The National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 36306—2024 "Technical Requirements for Air Chemical Pollution Control in Clean Rooms and Related Controlled Environments" was issued in 2024, replacing the old version GB/T 36306—2018. The new standard comprehensively revised and optimized the air chemical pollutant control technology in clean rooms, aiming to meet the needs of the development of high-tech industries and improve the air quality of clean room environments.
Analysis of key changes in the standard
| Old version content | New version content | Change description |
|---|---|---|
| Scope of application is limited to clean rooms | Covering clean rooms and related controlled environments | The scope of application of the standard has been expanded |
| Pollutants are not classified in detail | Air cleanliness (ACC) levels are divided according to chemical concentrations | Pollution classification methods have been added |
Pollution sources and control technologies
Pollution source analysis
Pollutants in clean rooms mainly come from:
- Chemical pollutants in the outdoor atmosphere, such as sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, etc.
- Activities of indoor workers, including chemicals released from sweat and protective equipment.
Control technology
The new standard recommends the use of ion chromatography (IC) and inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for pollutant detection to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data.
Implementation recommendations
- In the early stages of clean room construction, low-volatile materials should be given priority, and chemical pollutant release tests should be conducted.
- Ventilation should be strengthened during the construction phase, especially when using epoxy coatings and fireproof materials.
