《GB/T 24477-2009适用于残障人员的电梯附加要求》由TC196（全国电梯标准化技术委员会）归口，主管部门为国家标准化管理委员会。
本标准规定了包括附录B表B.1所列出的残障人员在内的人员安全和独立地接近与使用电梯的最低要求。
标准适用的电梯符合表１最小轿厢尺寸的要求，且设置动力驱动的自动水平滑动轿门和层门。
本标准考虑了使用GB/T13800-1992和GB12996-1991规定尺寸的轮椅车的人员对电梯的可接近性。
本标准规定了附加技术要求，以减小第４章中所述的残障人员使用电梯时易发生的伤害。
Scope
This standard specifies the minimum requirements for the safe and independent access and use of elevators by persons including persons with disabilities listed in Table B.1 of Appendix B. The elevators to which this standard applies meet the minimum car size requirements in Table 1, and are equipped with power-driven automatic horizontal sliding car doors and landing doors. This standard considers the accessibility of elevators for people using wheelchairs of the dimensions specified in GB/T 13800-1992 and GB/T 12996-1991. This standard specifies additional technical requirements to reduce the injuries prone to occur when disabled persons mentioned in Chapter 4 use elevators.
