Scope
This standard specifies the test method for expanding the metal pipe ring sample with a conical top core until it breaks, so as to reveal the defects on the surface of the metal pipe ring sample and inside the pipe ring wall. This method can also be used to assess the ability of metal pipes to withstand plastic deformation. This standard applies to metal pipe rings with an outer diameter of 18 mm to 150 mm and a wall thickness of 2 mm to 16 mm.
