Scope

1. This standard provides a list and description of data segments recommended for use in digital ultrasonic testing to facilitate data transmission. This standard is specifically intended for the acquisition of digital image data from ultrasound scanning systems. The standard list includes all data segments that should be included in the database; the marked data segments are necessary information in the process of data transmission and interpretation. In addition, other optional data sections are also listed in this standard as optional information, these data sections may help to further understand the data, or are suitable for a few applications. 2. It is permissible that some organizations already have suitable internal data formats for storing and retrieving ultrasonic testing data. This standard does not restrict the use of such formats, since the necessary data fields are likely to already be contained in such databases, or only a few data fields need to be supplemented. The data segment numbers in the list in this standard are just for convenience and have no specific meaning, and are not part of the data file. 3. The types of ultrasonic testing systems mentioned in this standard are described in GB/T 23908 and GB/T 23912, the terms used are defined in GB/T 12604.1, and the parameters of the probes used follow GB/T 18852.
