Introduction
Background and significance of standard revision
GB/T 27591-2025 integrates the original GB/T 27589-2011 "Paper lunch box" and GB/T 27591-2011 "Paper bowl" standards, and adds technical requirements for five types of products, including paper barrels and paperboard boxes. This revision focuses on strengthening environmental performance indicators, adding sustainable development requirements such as biodegradability and compostability, and responding to the "dual carbon" policy orientation.

Analysis of key quality indicators
1. Physical performance requirements
Compressive strength requirements for paper bowls of different capacities:
- ≤500mL: ≥300N
- ＞500mL: ≥360N
New stiffness classification for paper dinner plates: diameter＞215mm must reach ≥1.60N
2. Temperature resistance test
Typical case: For the hot water resistance test, inject 95℃±5℃ hot water into the container and check for leakage after letting it stand for 30 minutes. Catering companies should focus on the fitness requirements of products with lids (tightness ≤ 1mm).
Key points for implementing environmental performance
Degradable products must meet the following requirements:
- Biodegradability ≥ 90%
- Degree of disintegration ≥ 90%
- Ecotoxicity (germination rate) ≥ 90%
Note:Only products that are clearly marked as "biodegradable" will be tested, and a third-party certification report must be provided.

1. Production process adjustment
The coating process needs to control the uniformity of thickness to avoid the "film layer falling off" defect specified in Article 5.5.3.
2. Testing capability building
Recommended configuration:
- Constant temperature and humidity chamber (GB/T 10739)
- Stiffness tester (Appendix B)
- Biodegradation test system
3. Labeling specifications
Must be marked: product type, capacity/size, operating temperature limit (such as "not resistant to hot oil"), and biodegradable statement (if applicable).
