Scope

basic principles of interoperability. The conceptual framework involves or includes ontology, classification system, design pattern and abstract specification of core LBS service represented by UML. This standard also further explains the relationship between the conceptual framework and other frameworks, geographic information applications and services, and client applications. This standard discusses the first three basic perspectives about the LBS system defined in the Open Reference Model for Distributed Computing (RM-ODP, see ISO/IEC 10746-1), which are: a) Enterprise perspective—refine the system's goals, scope and policy. b) Information perspective—defines the semantics of information and the processing of the system. c) Computational perspective—refines the functional decomposition of the system. The remaining two perspectives are for requirements or examples only, and they are: d) Engineering perspective—defines the deployment of the infrastructure. e) Technical perspective—refine implementation technology. Reference models and frameworks can be defined at various levels from conceptual design to software documentation. In this standard: —Define the conceptual framework and application types included in LBS; —Establish the general principles of LBS applicable to both mobile and fixed clients; —Specify the data access interface when roaming; Architectural relationships; - identify other aspects that require further standardization in the LBS domain. This standard does not discuss the following issues: - rules for developing LBS; - general principles for roaming protocols for mobile clients and tracking targets.
