Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, type evaluation, factory inspection, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of non-continuous totalizing automatic weighing instruments (accumulating hopper scales, hereinafter referred to as weighing instruments). This standard applies to weighing instruments with a hopper-type carrier, which divides a batch of bulk materials into separate loads, weighs the mass of each separate load in turn, accumulates the weighing results, and discharges the separate loads. This standard does not apply to the following types of instruments: - "weighing in motion" instruments; - instruments for accumulating bulk materials by multiplying the mass of a preset constant load by the number of weighing cycles.
