Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, data storage and compression content and requirements of the automatic identification system for motor vehicle license plates. This standard applies to all kinds of automatic identification systems for motor vehicle license plates based on image acquisition equipment such as cameras, and does not apply to single-lane road toll systems.
