Scope

This standard specifies the pulsed eddy current testing method for detecting wall thickness reduction caused by large area corrosion without removing the covering layer. This standard is applicable to the detection of in-service components made of carbon steel, low alloy steel and other ferromagnetic materials with a thickness of 3 mm to 65 mm, a coating thickness of 0 to 200 mm, and a temperature of -150 ° C to 500 ° C, and the diameter is not less than 50mm pipe or fittings. This standard does not apply to the detection of wall thickness reduction and crack defects locally caused by pitting and pitting. This standard does not establish evaluation criteria, and the specific criteria shall be determined through negotiation between the testing party and the user. This standard does not fully give the safety requirements for testing, and all parties using this standard are obliged to establish appropriate safety and protection rules before testing.
