Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for library performance indicators and establishes a set of performance indicators that can be used by various types of libraries. It also provides guidance on how to use performance indicators for libraries that have not yet used them. Appendix A lists the list of library performance indicators, and Appendix B explains the library performance indicators in detail. This International Standard provides standard terms and brief definitions of performance indicators. Furthermore, this standard also provides a concise description of the performance indicators and the collection and analysis of the required data. This standard applies to all types of libraries in our country. It should be noted, however, that not all performance indicators are applicable to every type of library. Applicability of each performance indicator is listed in Appendix B. This standard does not cover all performance indicators for library services, activities and resource utilization, because some performance indicators have not been proposed or verified at the time of this standard, or because some performance indicators do not yet meet the requirements of the standard (see 4.2).
