Terms and Definitions
Punch and Die: It is composed of an upper punch, a middle die and a lower punch, and is the core component of a tablet press. Its design directly affects the shape and size of tablets.
Turret: A rotating worktable where the punch is installed, used to carry and transfer the punch. The working surface of the turret must meet high precision and stability requirements.
Classification and Marking
Tablet presses are divided into high-speed (>85 min⁻¹) and low-speed (≤85 min⁻¹) types according to the maximum linear speed of the center point of the turret. The model mark consists of a specification code and a function code, such as ZP16 for a single-discharge rotary tablet press with 16 dies.
