Scope
This standard specifies a series of extensions to the ISO/IEC 9899:1999 programming language C. These extensions support embedded processors. Each chapter of this standard deals with a specific topic. The first item of Chapters 4, 5, and 6 all contain a technical description of the characteristics of the subject. These clauses provide an overview but do not contain all details. The last article of each chapter contains editorial changes to ISO/IEC 9899:1999 programming language C, which are necessary to fully specify the relevant topics in ISO/IEC 9899:1999 and provide a complete definition. Additional explanations and rationale are listed in the appendix. This standard applies to the process of program development for embedded processors using C language.
