Key points of electrostatic discharge protection technology

Equipotential design case:The metal door of the cabinet is continuously grounded through beryllium copper finger-shaped spring, and the contact resistance is <10mΩ.

Typical parameters:When 8kV electrostatic discharge, the air gap is ≥4mm and the creepage distance is ≥6mm.


Analysis of Standard Evolution

This standard integrates electromagnetic shielding and ESD protection for the first time. Compared with GB/T 18663.3-2007, it adds the following:

  • Shielding requirements for frequency bands above 3GHz (80dB@6GHz)
  • Application guide for composite conductive fillers
  • Dynamic connection ESD protection scheme

Implementation suggestions

  1. Prioritize the use of nickel-plated conductive rubber gaskets (shielding effectiveness 115dB@1GHz)
  2. Control the electrochemical potential difference ≤0.5V (see Appendix A metal combination table)
  3. Use double-layer honeycomb ventilation panels (shielding effectiveness 110dB@10MHz) in key areas
