Introduction

Standard Framework and Technological Evolution

This standard is equivalent to the fourth revised edition of the United Nations GHS system to establish China's chemical hazard information classification and expression system. The main technical evolution includes:

Version Features GB/T 32374-2015 GHS 4th Edition
Number of Pictograms 9 categories 9 categories
Code Structure Letter+Digit Mixed Code H/P+3 Digits
Classification of Precautionary Statements 5 categories 5 categories

Analysis of Core Elements

1.

Pictogram coding system

Use GHS01-GHS09 coding to correspond to 9 types of graphics such as explosive bombs and flames, for example:

  • GHS01: Explosive hazard
  • GHS05: Corrosive hazard

2. Hazard statement classification

Application case: For highly toxic chemicals (H300), it is necessary to mark the following at the same time:

  1. Pictogram GHS06 (Skull and Crossbones)
  2. Precautionary statements P301+P310 (First aid measures for accidental ingestion)

Implementation recommendations

Label production specifications

The information should be arranged according to the following priority:

  1. Pictogram (upper left corner)
  2. Signal word (Danger/Warning)
  3. Hazard statements (H code)
  4. Precautionary statements (P code)

Key points for corporate compliance

Steps Operational requirements
Transport Must also comply with GB 13690 transport label regulations
Storage Refer to storage codes such as P403/P410
