Introduction
Interpretation of the test methods for physical properties of sulfur tail gas hydrogenation catalysts
1. Scope of application of the standard
This standard applies to sulfur tail gas hydrogenation catalysts with cobalt oxide and molybdenum oxide as the main active components and aluminum oxide as the carrier in the Claus sulfur recovery process using hydrogen sulfide acid gas as raw material. The measurement indicators include:
- Bulk density
- Particle crushing resistance
- Abrasion rate
- Specific surface area
- Pore volume
- Average pore diameter
2. Standard framework comparison table
| Measurement indicators | Reference standard | Measurement method | Instrument requirements |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bulk density | HG/T4680 | Heating and drying method | - Oven (120℃) - Analytical balance |
| Particle crushing resistance | HG/T2782 | Intelligent particle strength test method | - Intelligent particle strength testing machine - Range 0N~500N |
| Abrasion rate | HG/T2976 | Vibration screening method | - Vibration screening machine - Test sieve (aperture φ2.0mm) |
| Specific surface area, pore volume, average pore diameter | Physical adsorption method | Nitrogen adsorption method | - Physical adsorption instrument - Degassing device (300℃, vacuum degree ≤1.3Pa) - Analytical balance |
3. Implementation suggestions
Control of experimental conditions:
- Sample pretreatment: Dry at 120℃ for 2 hours to avoid moisture affecting the test results.
- Particle screening: Use a test sieve with a pore size of φ2.0mm (in accordance with the R40/3 series in GB/T6003.1)
- Instrument calibration: Regularly calibrate the analytical balance, vacuum pump and adsorption instrument to ensure measurement accuracy.
Optimization of test steps:
- Sample degassing: Keep at 300℃ for 3 hours to ensure that the sample is completely degassed.
- Adsorption-desorption analysis: Use liquid nitrogen as the adsorption medium to accurately control the temperature (-196℃) and pressure.
