1. Standard foreword and background

GB/T33069-2016 "Test Method for Industrial Poly N-vinyl Pyrrolidone" is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, which was officially implemented on May 1, 2017. The standard is managed by the Thermosetting Plastics Sub-Technical Committee of the National Plastics Standardization Technical Committee and proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation.

K value determination method: K value is an important indicator for measuring the relative molecular mass of PVP. The standard adopts the Ubbelohde viscometer method, and the K value is calculated by measuring the outflow time of the solution. This method is simple to operate and has accurate results.

Case analysis: NVP residual monomer detection

The determination of NVP residual monomer adopts two methods: iodine titration and high performance liquid chromatography. The iodine titration method calculates the residual monomer content by titrating excess iodine, while the HPLC method uses chromatographic separation technology to achieve precise quantification.
