Introduction

1. Background and purpose of the standard

GB/T 33302-2016 "Test method for the emission of sulfur content in coal" was formulated in accordance with the relevant requirements of the International Organization for Standardization and in combination with my country's actual situation. This standard specifies the method for determining the emission of sulfur content released during the combustion of coal at different temperatures, aiming to provide unified technical specifications for the environmental protection, energy and coal industries.

2. Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard name Scope of application Main methods Precision requirements
GB/T 33302—2016 Applicable to lignite, bituminous coal and anthracite Determination of removable sulfur content by combustion method Repeatability limit: ≤0.20%; Reproducibility critical difference: ≤0.40%
GB/T 214—2007 Applicable to all types of coal High temperature combustion-acidification method for determination of total sulfur content Repeatability limit: ≤0.05%; Reproducibility critical difference: ≤0.10%

3. Recommendations for standard implementation

Case study: A coal-fired power plant adopted this standard method and drew a dischargeable sulfur content curve through tests at different temperatures. The results showed that sulfur emissions reached a peak at 900°C. This provides data support for subsequent boiler design and emission reduction measures.
