Scope of Application:This standard is applicable to the determination of the thickness of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film with optical function by mechanical measurement.

1. Analysis of Standard Formulation Background and Technology Evolution

PET (polyethylene terephthalate) film has been widely used in electronics, optoelectronics and other fields due to its excellent optical and mechanical properties. With the advancement of science and technology, the application scenarios of films are constantly expanding, which puts forward higher requirements for the accuracy and reliability of thickness measurement. The formulation of this standard aims to standardize the determination method of PET film thickness and ensure the consistency and traceability of product quality.

4. Measuring instruments and technical requirements

Accuracy requirements:The accuracy of mechanical thickness gauges varies according to different thickness ranges: 1μm for less than 100μm, 2μm for 100-250μm, and 3μm for more than 250μm.

Requirements for measuring surface:The measuring surface must meet the geometric conditions of plane/plane or convex/plane, and ensure surface polishing and flatness. The diameter of the lower measuring surface should be between 2.5mm and 10mm, and the non-parallelism between the two planes should be less than 3μm.

5. Implementation suggestions

Operation specifications:Before measuring thickness, ensure that the sample is balanced in a standard environment for at least 2 hours, and adjust the environmental conditions to 23℃±2℃ and relative humidity 50%±5% according to GB/T 2918. At the same time, keep the measuring instrument clean and calibrated.

Data processing: Record all measured thickness values and calculate the maximum, minimum, deviation and average value to fully reflect the consistency of film thickness.
