Introduction

Background of Standard Revision and Technological Evolution

GB/T 3367.1-2018, as the basic standard of diesel locomotive terminology system, replaces the 2000 version of GB/T 3367.6 standard. The main technical changes are reflected in:

Technical Field 2000 Edition 2018 Edition Update
Test Methods 7 Types of Tests New Traction Thermal Test (2.6.5) and Factory Line Operation Test (2.6.16)
Transmission Technology Definition of AC and DC Transmission Revise the definition of AC drive diesel locomotive (2.1.14)
Structural parameters Axle type definition Modify the axle type definition (2.2.1)

Analysis of core terminology system

2.1 Classification of diesel locomotives

The standard classifies diesel locomotives according to 8 dimensions, among which the classification of technical features has the most engineering value:

  • Transmission mode: mechanical transmission (2.1.10), hydraulic transmission (2.1.11), electric transmission (2.1.12)
  • Suspension system: primary suspension (2.1.17) and secondary suspension locomotive (2.1.18)
  • Speed grade: The definition of high-speed diesel locomotive is adjusted to ≥200km/h(2.1.5)

2.2 Key parameters of structural elements

21 structural parameters are defined, among which the weight parameter relationship is as follows:

Parameter name Definition clause Included elements
Calculated weight 2.2.18 2/3 fuel + normal coolant + tools
Curb weight 2.2.19 Full fuel + normal coolant + tools
Empty weight 2.2.20 Not including crew/fuel/water/sand

Technical specifications for traction brake system

2.4.1-2.4.30 Traction performance system

Establish a four-level traction force definition hierarchy:

  1. Diesel engine traction force(2.4.7): Limited by prime mover power
  2. Transmission traction force(2.4.8): Limited by mechanical transmission capacity
  3. Adhesion traction(2.4.11): Limit value of wheel-rail friction
  4. Couple traction(2.4.6): Actual available traction

2.4.41-2.4.71 Braking technology matrix

The standard defines 7 types of braking methods, and the key technologies are compared as follows:

Braking type Principle Applicable scenarios
Resistor braking(2.4.50) Kinetic energy→electrical energy→thermal energy Electric locomotive
Hydraulic brake(2.4.51) Kinetic energy → hydraulic oil thermal energy Hydraulic transmission locomotive
Magnetic rail brake(2.4.52) Electromagnet friction brake High-speed emergency brake

Implementation suggestions and engineering applications

Terminology usage specifications

  • AC transmission system should strictly adopt the latest definition of 2.1.14
  • Axle weight calculation needs to distinguish between calculated weight (2.2.18) and curb weight (2.2.19)

Test standard implementation

New test requirements:

  1. The traction thermal test (2.6.5) should include data collection under different operating conditions
  2. The factory line operation test (2.6.16) needs to verify the dynamic braking characteristics
