3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in GB/T 28816 and the following apply.
3.1
road vehicles
motor vehicle and trailers driving on the road by at least four wheels, which mainly include commercial vehicle and passenger car, including agriculture truck and other road transport machinery and trailers. Those vehicle driving on the track and engine-driven machinery and tractors used for non-road purposes, such as agriculture, forestry and engineering are not included as road vehicle.

4 Requirements

4.1 General requirements

The modules shall meet the requirements of GB/T 29838-2013, 4.1 and 4.2.

4.2 Routine requirements

They include requirements for appearance, polarity, dimension and quality, which are checked according to 6.1. The appearance shall not be deformed or cracked and be free from damage and dirt with clear and correct identification; the polarity shall be consistent with that of the identification; dimension and quality figure shall meet technical documents requirements.

4.3 Requirements for gas leakage

It is likely to produce inflammable gas or cause liquid leakage depending on the design, which is tested according to 6.2. The gas leakage rate shall not exceed the agreement of manufacturer.

4.4 Requirements for hydrogen leakage amount

When tested according to 6.3, the module hydrogen leakage concentration is not higher than 25%LFL. The hydrogen leakage rate shall meet requirements of SAE J2578-2009 for hydrogen leakage from fuel cell electric vehicle parts.

4.5 Requirements for permissible working pressure

When tested according to 6.4, the modules shall be free from fracture, crack, permanent deformation or physical damage.

4.6 Requirements for cooling system voltage withstand

When tested according to 6.5, the module cooling system shall be free from any fracture, crack, permanent deformation or other physical damage; any liquid coolant, if contained in the system, shall not be spilled.
4.7 Requirements for overvoltage

Requirements of whole vehicle for modules, if any, shall prevail. If there is no special requirement, the modules, when tested according to 6.6, shall meet the requirements of GB/T 29838-2013, 5.8 for overvoltage.

4.8 Requirements for differential pressure

Requirements of whole vehicle for modules, if any, shall prevail. If there is no special requirement, the modules, when tested according to 6.6, shall be free from any fracture, crack, permanent deformation or other physical damage.

4.9 Requirements for electromagnetic compatibility

When tested according to 6.8, the modules shall be electromagnetically compatible and shall meet relevant requirements of GB/T 18655-2010, GB/T 17619-1998 and GB/T 21437.2-2008.

4.10 Requirements for resistance against water and dust

Requirements of whole vehicle for modules, if any, shall prevail. If there is no special requirement, the modules, when tested according to 6.9, shall meet the requirements of IPX5 in GB/T 4208-2008 and IP5X in GB/T 4208-2008 for resistance against water and dust respectively.

4.11 Requirements for performance

Test items and conditions are agreed by the manufacturer and the demander. When tested according to 6.10, the power and polarization curve shall meet the requirements of the demander.

4.12 Requirements for insulation

When tested according to 6.11, the insulation shall meet relevant requirements in GB/T 24549-2009.

4.13 Requirements for vibration

The modules can resist against the vehicle vibration and shall meet the requirements in 4.4, 4.10 and 4.12 after the vibration test which is carried out according to 6.12.

4.14 Requirements for storage temperature

When tested according to 6.13, the modules have a storage temperature between -40℃ and 60℃.
