Introduction

1. Background and significance of standard formulation

As an important component of clean energy, the quality of natural gas is directly related to the safety and environmental protection of energy utilization. As a toxic and harmful element, the detection of arsenic content in natural gas is of great significance.

2. Technical principles and methods

This standard adopts the potassium permanganate solution absorption method to determine the arsenic content in natural gas. The specific steps include:

  1. Sample collection: natural gas is drawn from the pipeline through a stainless steel pipe and connected to the sampling container with a short-section rubber hose.
  2. Absorption device: use a glass sand absorber or a glass orifice absorber, and add 40 mL of 0.5% potassium permanganate solution.
  3. Sample treatment: filter the absorption liquid and make it constant, and then use inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-OES) to determine the arsenic content.

  • Laboratory analysis stage: It is recommended to use the standard curve method for quantitative analysis to ensure the preparation accuracy of the calibration solution.
