Introduction

1. Standard Overview

GB/T 34231-2017 "Determination of Loss on Ignition of Coal Combustion Residues" specifies the terms and definitions, method summary, instruments and equipment, test procedures, result calculation, method precision and test report of the loss on ignition of coal combustion residues.

2. Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard dimensions GB/T 34231—2017 Comparison with related standards
Definition of terms Coal combustion residue, loss on ignition, moisture-corrected loss on ignition Consistent with GB/T 212 and GB/T 483
Method Summary Weigh the sample, burn it at a specified temperature, and calculate the mass loss Similar to international standard ISO 1928 but more specific
Test steps Including method A and method B, which are suitable for different temperature ranges Optimizes the high temperature treatment process of the traditional method

3. Implementation suggestions

3.1 Instrument calibration and maintenance

Muffle furnace:The constant temperature zone should be calibrated regularly (at least once a year) and the temperature control accuracy should be within ±10℃. It is recommended to use a digital temperature indicating regulator with a thermocouple for temperature control.

3.2 Sample processing precautions

Sample particle size:Ensure that the sample particle size is less than 0.2mm to avoid test errors caused by uneven particles. It is recommended to use a standard sieve for pretreatment.

3.3 Data Analysis and Report

Repeated determination: Each sample shall be repeated for at least two times, and the arithmetic mean shall be taken as the final result, and rounded to two decimal places according to GB/T 483.
