1. Standard Overview
GB/T 34605—2017 Technical Requirements for Operational Evaluation of Coal-fired Flue Gas Desulfurization Equipment is a standard formulated by China for the operation evaluation of wet flue gas desulfurization equipment (such as limestone-gypsum desulfurization, ammonia desulfurization, seawater desulfurization, etc.) and dry/semi-dry desulfurization equipment for coal-fired power station boilers. This standard is applicable to various types of coal-fired flue gas desulfurization equipment, aiming to ensure that its environmental performance, resource and energy consumption, technical and economic performance, operation management and equipment status meet national and local requirements.

3. Implementation Suggestions
Case Analysis: A coal-fired power plant uses limestone-gypsum desulfurization equipment and evaluates its effectiveness after 6 months of operation. According to the standard requirements:
- SO2 emission concentration must be ≤35 mg/m³ (key areas) or ≤100 mg/m³ (special areas in non-key areas).
- Desulfurization efficiency must be ≥98% (wet method) or ≥92% (dry method/semi-dry method).
- Unit desulfurization comprehensive energy consumption must be ≤86 kgce/tSO2 (Grade A).
Through the implementation of these technical requirements, the power plant successfully increased the equipment availability to 98% and achieved SO2 emission concentration compliance.
