Background and Significance of Standardization

GB/T34640.2—2017 "Classification, Recycling and Utilization of Deformed Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Waste Part 2: Recycling of Waste" is an important national standard for waste management in the aluminum processing industry. With the widespread application of aluminum in industry, the recycling and reuse of waste has become a key link in achieving resource conservation and environmental protection.

This standard is managed by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Nonferrous Metals and proposed by the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association. It aims to standardize the recycling process of external and internal waste of aluminum processing enterprises to ensure scientific classification, reasonable storage and efficient recycling of waste.

External scrap recycling requirements

Group Scrap name Recycling requirements
Aluminum wire, aluminum conductive plate Bright aluminum wire and old aluminum wire It is advisable to press them into blocks. The size of the blocks should be determined according to the type of the company's smelting furnace
Conductive plate Large scraps can be recycled directly. Small scraps can be pressed into blocks. The size of the blocks should be determined according to the type of the company's smelting furnace

Requirements for internal waste recycling

The recycling management of internal waste in enterprises needs to follow the provisions of GB/T34640.1 and be stored according to alloy grades, levels and groups. Level 1 and 2 waste should be recycled by alloy frame or rack and clearly marked; level 3 waste can be stored by group or alloy.

Process Recycling requirements for typical process waste
Casting, Casting and Rolling 1. Ingot sawing heads and tails waste and casting and rolling heads and tails waste should be packed in boxes or racks for recycling according to alloy grades;

Implementation suggestions

To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, enterprises should:

  • Establish a complete waste recycling management system
  • Equip special waste storage facilities
  • Strengthen waste identification and classification management
  • Regularly conduct standard training for employees
  • Develop waste acceptance and inspection procedures
