Introduction
GB/T 34694—2017 Standard Interpretation
1. Background and purpose of the standard
Chlorinated polyvinyl chloride resin (CPVC) is an important engineering plastic widely used in pipes, coatings and other fields. Residual chlorine content is a key indicator to measure its quality and directly affects the performance and safety of the material.
This standard is managed by the National Technical Committee for Plastic Standardization and aims to standardize the determination method of residual chlorine content in CPVC to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
2. Principle and scope of application
This standard uses potentiometric titration to determine the residual chlorine content using silver nitrate-dimethylacetamide standard titration solution.
Potentiometric titrator is a key equipment with high precision (±2mV) and automatic endpoint determination function. This method is applicable to all chlorinated polyvinyl chloride resin products.
| Standard dimensions | GB/T 34694—2017 | Comparative analysis |
|---|---|---|
| Reagent requirements | Silver nitrate-dimethylacetamide standard titration solution (0.02mol/L) Hydrogen peroxide solution | High-purity reagents ensure measurement accuracy, especially hydrogen peroxide is used to oxidize samples. |
| Instruments | Potentiometric titrator (±2mV) Magnetic stirrer Microburette (5mL/10mL) | The instrument configuration must meet high-precision requirements, especially the stability of the electrode system directly affects the measurement results. |
| Testing steps | Sample dissolution→titration→data processing | Standardized process for easy laboratory operation and result traceability. |
3. Implementation suggestions and precautions
Experimental environment control:Ensure that the laboratory temperature (20-25℃) and humidity are stable to avoid external interference.
Reagent storage:Silver nitrate standard solution should be stored away from light, with a maximum shelf life of 1 month to avoid decomposition affecting concentration.
Instrument calibration:Regularly calibrate the potentiometric titrator and burette to ensure measurement accuracy. It is recommended to perform internal calibration once a month.
4. Standard advantages and limitations
Advantages:The method is simple and efficient, suitable for automated detection. Potentiometric titration has high sensitivity and is suitable for trace chloride ion determination.
Limitations:The sample pretreatment time is relatively long (15-20 minutes), it is highly dependent on equipment, and requires professional operation.
