GB/T 35369—2017: Professional interpretation of occupant detection devices for automobile seat belt reminders

I. Overview of the standard

GB/T 35369—2017 is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, which specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods and inspection rules for occupant detection devices installed in automobile seats. This standard is mainly applicable to detection devices in the front passenger seats of M1-class automobiles, and provides a technical basis for ensuring the effectiveness of automobile seat belt reminder systems.

II. Interpretation of core content

1. Scope and applicability

The standard is applicable to detection devices in the front passenger seats of M1-class automobiles, and other seats and vehicle types can be used as a reference. Its main function is to trigger the seat belt reminder system by detecting the seat occupancy status.

2. Explanation of Key Terms

III. Technical Requirements and Test Methods

1. Functional Requirements

The detection device needs to accurately identify the seat occupancy status under different temperature conditions. Through the Hybrid III 5th percentile female dummy or real person test, ensure that the detection range covers the minimum area (see Figure 1).

2. Environmental adaptability test

  • Temperature and humidity alternating test: Conducted in accordance with GB/T2423.4, involving 24-hour cycles, including high temperature and high humidity and low temperature and high humidity stages.
  • Cold and hot alternating adaptability: Including 30 cycle tests from -50°C to 100°C in a temperature chamber (see Figure 4).
  • Thermal shock adaptability: Involving 250 rapid cycles between -40°C and 85°C (see Figure 5).

3. Durability reliability test

Including simulated kneeling durability test and human entering and exiting seat durability test, using a hemispherical head and a fake hip specimen to apply 750N of pressure respectively to ensure the stability of the device under extreme conditions.
