Introduction

Analysis of the core framework of the standard

Modules Core elements Technical points
Test materials Asexually propagated 3-year-old plants At least 6 plants, trait modification treatment is prohibited
Test cycle Complete growth cycle Differentiation of maturity period in the north/south
Trait system 57 trait characteristics Including 16 key traits with asterisks

Detailed explanation of key technical indicators

4.2.5 Specifications for trait observation

The standard puts forward clear requirements for the observation of various organs of pomegranate:

  • Branches: select the sunny branches on the upper and middle outer part of the crown
  • Fruit: collect 2-3 normally developed fruits from each plant
  • Seed hardness: divided into three levels: soft seed (<4.5kg/cm²), semi-soft and hard seed (>7.5kg/cm²)

Comparison of DUS judgment standards

Dimension Specificity Consistency Stability
Determination method Constant + significant difference Heteromorphic strains ≤1/6 Generational trait recurrence
Quality traits 1 trait difference 95% reliability Additional parent test
Quantitative traits 2 traits or 1 trait 2 code differences

Recommendations for the implementation of the standard

Test material preparation

It is recommended to cultivate one year in advance class=instrument>Test plants to ensure:

  1. Use local main varieties as rootstock
  2. Planting density ≥3m×4m
  3. Establish a trait observation archive system

Trait data collection

Key monitoring:

  • Fruit peel thickness: Measure the equator with a vernier caliper
  • Sugar-acid ratio: Laboratory testing equipment is required
  • Flowering period record: 75% of the flowers are in bloom
