GB/T 35901-2018 "Fluorescence PCR Detection Method for Porcine Circovirus Type 2" is an important technical specification for the nucleic acid detection of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV-2). The standard was proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture, managed by the National Technical Committee for Animal Health Standardization, and drafted by the Shanghai Veterinary Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and other units.

PCV-2 is a pathogen that seriously harms the pig industry and can cause a variety of diseases such as swine fever and reproductive failure syndrome. The fluorescence PCR detection method has become the preferred technology for diagnosing PCV-2 with its high sensitivity and specificity. The formulation of this standard provides laboratories with unified operating specifications to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test results.
