GB/T 36061-2018 "General Specification for Traceability of E-commerce Transaction Products" aims to standardize the traceability management of e-commerce transaction products and ensure product quality and safety.

Principles of Traceability

The standard stipulates four principles for the traceability of e-commerce transaction products:

• Compliance: Must comply with relevant national laws and regulations.
• Coordination: Combined with product quality/safety management system.
• Integrity: Achieve the combination of internal and external traceability.
• Uniqueness: The traceability information code is unique and adopts international general standards or national standards.

General traceability process

The standard provides a general traceability process:

1. Supply link: Upstream suppliers carry out packaging and labeling, and record logistics information.
2. Transaction stage: Merchants receive products and record information.
3. Distribution stage: Logistics service providers are responsible for transportation and distribution, and record dynamic information.

The standard specifies the requirements for each traceability participant:

Implementation suggestions

To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, the following suggestions are put forward:

• Enterprise level: Establish a complete traceability system and adopt advanced technologies (such as blockchain) to improve efficiency.
• Platform level: Strengthen the management of merchants and logistics service providers and provide data support.
• Technical level: Promote the use of international standard coding technologies such as GS1-128 code system and Hanxin code.
