The formulation of this standard aims to standardize its breed identification and grade assessment and improve the level of animal husbandry production. The drafting units of the standard include the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Animal Husbandry Quality Standards Research Institute, the Ministry of Agriculture's Breeding Sheep and Wool Cashmere Quality Supervision and Inspection Center (Urumqi) and other authoritative institutions.
Breed characteristics of Bayinbuluke sheep
Bayinbuluke sheep is a local breed of sheep with both meat and fat properties and coarse wool, with the following characteristics:
- Stable genetic performance
- Tolerant to high cold and strong disease resistance
- Tolerant to rough feed
- The body coat is mainly white, and the head and neck are mostly black or yellow

- Weaning weight: Male lamb ≥26.8kg, female lamb ≥26.9kg
- Daily weight gain during lactation: Male lamb 191.0g/day, female lamb 194.0g/day
Grade assessment and identification records
The grade assessment of Bayinbuluke sheep is based on body shape, appearance and production performance indicators, and is specifically divided into:
- Special grade:Excellent individuals in the first grade, with a weight exceeding the assessment index of the first grade sheep by 10%
- First grade:Conforms to the breed's body shape, appearance and indicators in Table 1
- Second grade:Conforms to the breed's body shape, appearance and indicators in Table 2
- Out-of-grade: Individuals that do not meet the secondary assessment indicators
Implementation suggestions and practical applications
