Scope

This standard specifies the external detection method for stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of buried steel pipelines, including data collection, SCC sensitive factor analysis, SCC location prediction, excavation detection, evaluation and disposal, records and reports. This standard applies to buried steel pipelines in onshore long-distance pipelines, gathering pipelines and public pipelines. Other buried steel pipelines can refer to the relevant provisions of this standard. This standard is only applicable to stress corrosion cracking of buried steel pipelines caused by the external environment, and is not applicable to stress corrosion cracking caused by the transport medium.
